Opinions about our country, the world, politics, and some other stuff that that doesn't fit those categories

With today being my thirty-fifth birthday, I decided to rummage through the crap in my basement to see what I've collected over the years. I got to the musical collection. I reached in the box and pulled out a Ministry cd, The Land Of Rape And Honey. It was a cassette tape when I first got it as an angry youth during my freshman year of college. But my lousy walkman way back when tore the tape up. So I later got the cd. I can't understand why I ever put this album in a carboard box in the basement. On my way back from work earlier, I popped the cd into the car stereo and blasted the opening track, "Stigmata". I love the intensity. I love the memories of pissing off my loser roommate in my dorm.

For the drive to work tomorrow I think I'm taking Slayer's Reign In Blood and Pantera's Cowboys From Hell. That last one could be in remembrance of Dimebag, even though he was still "Diamond" back then.

Thanks couchman. I'll be sure to offer the same wishes in 7 months.

I have a collection of baseball cards somewhere. I bet my parents still have it in their attic. Nothing good in there, though.

Thanks, Dharma. It's pretty cool to hear from female fans. I went to one of Pantera's concerts in like '96 or '97 on the Trendkill tour. I got an elbow sprain from in a mosh pit.

Did Somebody say, "Keep On Rockin'"???

I was always told that my musical tastes would "soften" as I aged beyond my "angry youth" period (actually, I never was all that angry, I was just out to have fun, no matter what!). I'll be turning 42 soon and I still like my Ozzy, Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Savatage and for some reason I like AC/DC now a whole lot more than I did back in the day!! Of course, they were half right, I am caught playing jazz, some classical and some others a lot more than I used to, so I'll have to give them that.

Don't think of yourself as "middle aged" though, I mean, the average life expectancy is in your 70s, so you won't be "middle aged" until...... Um.... er.. nevermind!!! ;~D HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

LALALALALALA NOT LISTENING!!!!!!!! I never made it.

I'm not jealous about the mosh pit tho. I'm too small to be in one...my eyes and nose are about elbow level to everyone else. I tried it once....yeah, not for me.

I'm not particularly thrilled when my parents tell me the years go by faster the older we get. I guess that means I'll be 45 in 7.5 years instead of 10.

Alright! We're all old-timers now

I can't listen to the garbage that they put out now. If I'm listening to music in the car, it's usually tuned in to the Oldies station. I think in the past ten years I've heard every song that ever became a top 100 between 1955 and 1975.

Thanks for the wishes, everyone.

Happy Birthday Eastern Diamondback. Hope it was a good one. (I really feel like a youngster in this conversation. I'll only be 26 in August. Oh, well. You're about the age of my older brother so it's all good.) Anyway, again, Happy Birthday.
